FREE Pizza giveaway

BRONX, NEW YORK, November 14- CiCi’s Pizza in the Bronx is keeping its doors open on Thanksgiving this year and will give away its famous endless buffet for adults and children for free all day while supplies last. No purchase is necessary, but drinks are not included and will be available at regular price.
“We’re new to the Bronx community and want to say thank you to our great neighbors for making us feel so welcome,” said CiCi’s Pizza Franchisee Nabeel Ansari. “As part of this community still recovering from Hurricane Sandy, we also wanted to invite people affected by the storm to come enjoy a meal on us this Thanksgiving.”
CiCi’s Pizza offers more than 28 pizzas in rotation on its endless pizza buffet in addition to pasta, salad, soup and dessert. Every CiCi’s restaurant makes each pizza by hand using house-made dough, sauce made in small batches with special herbs and seasonings, freshly grated cheese and crisp vegetables. Guests are limited to one free visit on Thanksgiving. CiCi’s will offer hot, made-to-order carryout pizzas at regular price throughout the day.
The restaurant hours of operation for dine-in and carryout are Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Man Charged with Killing Girlfriend, Infant Daughter

BRONX, NEW YORK, November 7- District Attorney Robert T. Johnson announced the indictment of a 21-year-old Manhattan man, Eligido Lind, for allegedly murdering his ex-girlfriend and their one month old daughter.
The grand jury has charged Lind, of East 129th Street, Manhattan, with one count of murder in the first degree, two counts of murder in the second degree, two counts of manslaughter in the first degree, and one count of criminal Possession of a Weapon in the fourth degree. The most serious offense, murder in the first degree, is a Class A-1 felony offense punishable by a maximum sentence of life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.
The charges in the indictment are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
An additional felony charge of Arson in the third degree is still pending before the grand jury.
It is alleged in court papers that Lind caused the death of Luisa Rodriguez, 32, by “repeatedly stabbing her with a sharp object or objects” in her head, neck, arms and torso. Lind allegedly also caused the death of, Angela Rodriguez-Lind, his daughter,” by inflicting blunt force trauma” to the infant’s head and neck.
The bodies of the mother and newborn child were discovered on Thursday, October 25, 2012 when firefighters went to an apartment at 3034 Albany Crescent, the Bronx in response to a fire that the defendant allegedly had set.
Lind is scheduled to be arraigned on the indictment before State Supreme Court Justice Judith Lieb on Friday, December 7, 2012 in State Supreme Court, Part H-73.

Serial Burglar Sought


BRONX, NEW YORK, November 7- Cops are on the look out for a serial burglar who has robbed a string of stores in Morrisania over a four-month period.
Investigators say the same man is responsible for a string of four burglaries. In each case the thief cuts the lock on the store’s roll down gate, enters the location and makes off with electronics. 
The burglary streak started on August 21 when he struck a grocery store on Prospect Avenue. Then the thief targeted a social club, convenience store and a pizzeria all along Boston Road.
Police released surveillance video from one of the thefts. Anyone with information is urged to call CRIMESTOPPERS at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls are confidential.
