8 Injured in Store Collapse

BRONX, NEW YORK, APRIL 8- Eight customers of a 99 cent store were injured when a series of over-stocked shelving units collapsed on customers, including several children. Rescue crews were called to the Dollar Discount Outlet at 950 Morris Avenue at just before 4 p.m. on Monday, April 7. Seven of the eight injured were reported in serious condition and transported to Lincoln Hospital. All of the victims were expected to survive. The building suffered no structural damage, but the owner of the store was issued several building code violations from the Department of Buildings.
